MERIL is hosting a fundraiser in conjunction with the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.

St. Joseph, MO is the perfect location to witness the eclipse, and we are offering our facilities and lawn space to those who would like to view the eclipse and/or camp on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday nights.

We have accessible indoor bathrooms (without showers), and we are located less than a quarter-mile from I-29. There will be a very large number of people in St. Joseph on this day, and traffic is expected to be highly congested. From our location, you can avoid the traffic with direct highway access.

We are open to discussing any additional amenities that you might be interested in. Just give us a call at 816-279-8558 or send us an email at

For a minimum donation of $20, donors will reserve one parking space in our parking lot. For an additional $20 donation, donors will also receive a grass area (10 ft. by 10 ft.) for camping. All proceeds go directly to participant services.

St. Joseph is an ideal location to view the eclipse.

There’s a lot of great information about the eclipse on the St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau website:
