Adult Brain Injury (ABI) Independent Living Program
MERIL’s ABI program assists individuals who have a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with achieving their own goals through one-on-one guidance, learning about community resources, and socializing with peers.
Eligibility: To receive MERIL’s ABI services, a participant must be a Missouri resident, age 21-65, who meets the medical eligibility guidelines for TBI.
Service coordination begins with an assessment of the participant’s needs, followed by the development of an individually-tailored plan to meet those needs. Some common resources that participants may need help obtaining include: Medical care, housing, counseling, transportation, rehabilitation, vocational training, and cognitive/behavior training.
Additional transitional home and community support training is available to those who are income-eligible for Rehabilitation Services.
