Independent Living Outreach Specialist

MERIL is seeking a full-time Independent Living Outreach Specialist. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion to improve the lives of those who are aging or have a disability.

The IL Outreach Specialist will be responsible for developing Independent Living and outreach programs, including public outreach, education, and collaboration, as well as working alongside people with disabilities to assist them in achieving their independent living goals. This individual will promote the use of assistive technology to help people live independently and to be as active as they desire in the community.

The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a social service field and preferably some coursework in marketing. Professional experience working with those with a disability, or in social service marketing, is highly desirable and may substitute for some educational requirements.

A background check and pre-hire drug test are required. Only non-tobacco users will be considered.

In-Home Personal Care Attendant (PCA)

MERIL is seeking PRN (as-needed) personal care attendants to provide homemaker and personal care services to people with disabilities in their homes. Duties will include light housekeeping, cooking, assistance with bathing, and other activities of daily living.

Positions are open in Andrew, Buchanan, and Nodaway counties.

Applicants must have at least six months of experience as a CNA, maid, or household worker, or have one year of experience caring for children, sick individuals, or elderly individuals. CNA certification is preferred but not required. A background check and drug screen are required.

In-Home PCAs are eligible to participate in a company-matched 401(k) retirement plan.
